In Memory of Newenka DuMont

Newenka passed away early in the morning on May 4th. Ethan, Zeph, and Yannis were by her side, and over the two days she was in the ICU, she had the opportunity to express her love to many people in her life. She went peacefully on her terms. ❤️

Obituary

Newenka DuMont, age 61, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 4th in Hinsdale with her husband, Yannis Arvanitis, and children, Zeph and Ethan, at her side. Her parents, Stephen and Barbara, and her sisters, Kevelyn Belden and Mischy, were able to be with her the night before to share their love and say goodbye. Newenka was a friend, loving wife and life partner, outstanding mother, strong advocate and leader for gifted education, and general instigator of mirth and adventure. She will be sorely missed by all the family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, we would welcome donations in Newenka's name to the Lustgarten Foundation (link), which sends 100% of funds to pancreatic cancer research, or to Fullersburg Woods (link, select Fullersburg Woods when asked where to direct your funds - fun fact, you can also adopt a turtle hatchling here).

We thank everyone for the outpouring of support and presence these last few days. We all know Newenka would have been delighted to see so many people important to her coming together, and only wish she could have still been around to see it. ❤️❤️❤️
